Addressing Issues Worsened by COVID-19
During the pandemic, many communities were faced with crises which included the lethal impact of COVID-19 for too many. The lethality of this pandemic was disproportionately felt in urban and poor communities and this, for some, may have hidden the existing and deleterious effects of issues such as opportunity gaps in education, the adverse impact of social determinants of health and chronic absenteeism prior to the pandemic.
Now that the worst of the pandemic seems to be behind us and COVID-19 is far more manageable, the lingering effects of these issues persist.
